In collaboration with the Tweyambe Secondary and High School at Bukoba/Tanzania an educational training program will be installed to teach locals in basic operation and maintenance of our mini-grid systems. For this purpose one VoltaView mini-grid-25 container will be installed at Tweyambe school as a training unit. Besides this the system will deliver electricity and clean drinking water for the school.
Therefore, each VoltaView mini-grid system installed in a rural community in North-West Tanzania and Victoria lake area will then have an educated local who is responsible for the system and who is able to perform simple maintenance (e.g. cleaning or changing filters, ordering new filters etc.). This person will be paid a salary by the revenue generated by selling electricity and clean drinking water – in this context VoltaView is creating new jobs for people in rural areas.
